Pretty nice old knife as it turns out. I say that because it looked like it was in the La Brea Tar Pits before cleaning. Took it in part trade for an old Canoe. From reading the charts, this seems to be from 1972. The fellow I got it from said he bought it in the Base exchange in Viet Nam in 1971. He had one tour left before discharge.

Funny thing just came to me. The Canoe was a boat and not a knife. When I posted I didn't even think about the Canoe pattern knife.

When I heard canoe I assumed it was the old Case redbone canoe of my dreams.

I'd trade an old canoe off for somethin' that nice.
