Come on boys, let's see'em ::ds::
Queen's Titusville Cutlery Co. Abalone Cotton Sampler, 1 of 40,
this knife snaps back so hard it amost jumps out cha hand! :shock:
If you notice the pins on the handle, you can barely see them in there. OOOOOH that's good work there! ::nod::

And the next one, also a Queen Titusville Cutlery Co. Sampler. This is a 1 of 70 with Winterbottom Bone handles.

And the last is a Northwoods Cotton Sampler in Red and Black Tortoise Shell (acrylic really) 1 of only 7 made. All of these have snap like a King Gator, I have cut myself many times playin with them. Its only blood, I've got plenty. :mrgreen:

Man my heart skipped a beat when I saw that abaloney one but then I saw that there winterbottom and it is sure hard to beat a nice Bottom :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Here are a couple "Krack-A-Jack" cotton samplers I purchased from Robert Roark, aka "robinetn" of Ridgewood Cutlery, here on AAPK. They were made by GEC, and are of outstanding quality ::tu:: ::tu:: Thanks Again, Bob!

Now you guys are talkin! Man Don you and James have got some mighty fine examples there. I used to have that Schatt Stag Sampler and sold it, WHAT AN IDIOT I AM! Hey James, you have the other KING that would make my set complete from Titusville Cutlery hint hint :wink: :wink:

I am a from the North and never seen any Cottons untill here at AAPK. I wounder what type of blade did the South really use?

I'm pretty sure that the original blades were more like Jerry's Bulldogs, big spoon on the top and grooved straight at the base from what I've seen but there were probably many different ones then too. ::shrug::

Gets the mind thinking. Well it did mine... :P

Perhaps some poor people had to use a hammered flat spoon to get them cotton balls out of their husks? Like in the civil war times.???
