Prayers needed
My Mom & Dad were in a car wreck today. Dad passed out while driving, and hit another car at a stop light. They are fine, and there was no real damage.
It turns out Dad needs a pacemaker and that is why he passed out. He is in the hospital now and they will put the pacemaker in on Monday.
Mom is having her knee replaced Monday also, so I may be caring for them for a few days starting on Monday. They live way out in the country, no TV, no internet, and no cell phone service, so I will be incommunicado. I will miss all you guys until I get home.
Your prayers are needed and appreciated.
Thank you,
Dale

UPDATE
I just got back from visiting my Dad in the hospital.
He is doing great! His color is better than I have seen it in years.
He is awake, alert and doing fine.
Thank you all for your prayers!
Please keep my Mom in your prayers as she is having her knee replaced Monday morning.
I will be going to their place to watch after Dad this week when he gets out of the hospital, and then watch after both of them when Mom gets home. I may not be around AAPK for a couple weeks. They live in the country, have no internet, nor cell phone service. I am limited to a land line phone. Actually they don't even have TV there, just a bunch of western movies for the DVD player. I may get someone else to come in for a day or two, so I may be able to come home and check in here once or twice.
I appreciate your prayers.
Thanks again,
Dale

Re: Prayers needed
Here's an update for you folks. Dale just called me to say that he was on his way to pick his mother up at the hospital where she is being released today after successful knee replacement surgery. He said she has been up and moving since the day after her surgery and has done well enough to go home. His dad has continued to respond well following his pacemaker implant surgery and says he fells better than he has in several years.
Dale seems to be holding up pretty well himself, using the peace and quiet time away from the web to do some writing and help his dad get some needed chores taken care of.
He asked that I let you all know he truly appreciates all the prayers that have been lifted up on behalf of his parents.

Re: Prayers needed
Hi guys,
I just got home last night from my parents farm. I have been staying there since October 18th watching after my dad who had a pacemaker put in, October 16. Mom had a new knee put in October 18th. She came home last Monday the 25th.
Both of them are doing very well. Mom is up at around a bit, walking on the new knee and doing so with less pain than she had with the worn out knee. Dad's pacemaker operation went great and the pacemaker is working fine. The only real issue has been that his doctor adjusted his insulin for his diabetes and his blood sugar has been all over the place. He saw the doctor on Wednesday, the 27th, and he put him on a new type of insulin that seems to be working better.
Thank you all for your prayers for them and for me. I really appreciate it and I know they do to.
Blessings to all of you,
Dale

Welcome back Dale, it sounds like your folks are doing well.

I've been there gringo, I sympathize with you. The Golden Years aren't so golden from what I've seen.
