Edge brand Bowie

Post by SFC ADP »

Here is a knife I have had for quite a few years.
I mainly collect folders, but when I was in high school I traded a set of $5.00 speakers for this knife.
Was wondering if anyone was familiar with them, and would know a value on them?

found this: EDGE, Solingen, ger. c.1974 -

goins and the standard guide list it as contemporary. not especially collectible.

not really rare, but I have seen big bowies like that sell for over $75 in excellent condition with a good sheath. I think the last time I saw one like yours, it had 'Bowie' or 'Original Bowie' marked on the blade. I love those lines! All Edge Brand knives I recall seeing had a three digit model number.

I can't add any more than that. I would bet that the company has made many knives with other brands marked on them. Or, Edge is just one of many companies that buy these big stag handled knives from someone else and puts their name on it.

Here is my old model 489, I think this was my first knife. There does not seem to be much collector value, they were considered cheap imports back in the 70's,but in my opinion they were much better quality than what is being imported today. Rick
