Does anyone recognize this knife? The pronounced swedge and the long pull, nail nick give it a vintage look. I would have thought doctor's knife but for the slanted lower bolster. The long top bolster is different as is the pronounced blade pivot pin. The knife has a German "feel" to me (if not that, my second choice would be Italian or maybe it should be my first choice because the blade has a stiletto look).

I can't help you with the maker but, is that knife really as big as it appears? Good looking knife and it does have that vintage look to it.

I don't know T.J. I hate to buy a knife with a description that says, "Vintage knife. Not much rust." and then has a single out of focus picture like that, just to find out what it really is. The blade is fascinating to me since I'm a big fan of the spear and sabre spear blades but I'm not crazy about spending money on a pig in a poke.

Kinda looks like a cross between a doctors knife and a melon tester. Maybe a 'Melon Doctor'.

I have a couple Italian knives from the 50-60`s that have those squared off bolsters like the knife in question.

I would guess it`s Italian

With the size of it and the slant bolster, I'm leaning toward Italian.

Well, there ya go. Since we'll never find out for sure, let's just call it Italian and move on.

I would vote for Japanese circa 1960's up.Hard to tell the size w/o a reference(why I use a 1"grid on most of my pics)but it looks like it might be around 3 1/2" long closed and also be missing a folding guard.That pearlized plastic is characteristic of Japanese knives of that era.A lot of them were clear and had dragon designs embedded in the handles.Compass Industries;Valor;Atco to name a few.Just my opinion.

You're not going to believe me but I'm going to tell you anyway, Japanese went through my head every time I looked at it, because of the bolsters (especially the bottom bolster). Sabre keeps bouncing around in my brain cage.
