Holy Smoke!
Hi. I recently acquired this old smoker's knife made by Christopher Johnson & Co. Along with blades, a file, a glove hook, pricker, pipe tamper, it has a cigar cutter. The springed pincer mechanism for the cigar cutter is the same as that on the little Victorian champagne bottle cutter that I posted in the off topic discussion awhile back. I think this is from the late 1800s. A very stylish lobster pattern... right down to the milled liners.

Very nice S-K
I have a number of smoker's knives, left over from the days when I managed a small chain of Smoke Shops & from 30 years of smoking a pipe. I stopped smoking when they stopped importing Will's Capstan into the USA. I had smoked it for close to 20 years and just couldn't find anything else I liked. I still have 50+ pipes and 8-10 Smoker's Knives. I will have to find them & post some pics.
I can tell you though, I don't have any as nice as yours. Smoking has been under attack in this country for 3 decades, so I guess importers figured there wasn't a great market for high end Smokers Tools.
Is Christopher Johnson & Co. in Sheffield? Some of the nicest Smoker's Knives I have seen have been from Sheffield.

Yup pers know as the good old days.
Back when men were men and women wanted to be men.
Back when gays stayed in and never came out.
Back behind the WOOD sheads.
Back when mom or dad spanked their kids if they got it comming.
OOPS do I sound like an unhappy school bus driver?

Sorry S K did not mean to mess up you tread.
