opinion on German dress Bayonet

Picked this up at a pawn shop. No markings on tang. Do you think it's authentic?

Looks like it was stored somewhere too hot or something. Leather from belt holder seems on back handle of knife.

Without any tang stamps, I'd be very skeptical about it.

You can go to http://warrelics.eu/forum/ and register and post your pictures in the appropriate forum.

The gents over there live and breathe war relics and they can tell you pretty quickly what you have. ;)

BTW, WWI and WWII German knives and daggers and fancy bayonets are counterfeited by some real pros. They make the Case knife fakes pale by comparison both in quantity and quality. There are some real sharks cruising those waters and some of the fakes are good enough to fool even the experts. Better know your stuff and your seller when dabbling in that field.

Hi:
With out close up photo's that are discernable it is hard to tell anything. Try using a neutral colored backdrop and a tripod. Please put a size reference in, maybe even a ruler. Show both sides of Handle from pommel to blade side of guard. Both sides of blade and top and bottom of handle. Show bottom of guard and end of pommel. Also show close up of insignia on handle. If you don't have access to ruler tell us the length of blade and length of piece overall. What is material the handle is made of. Is there rust present in the hard to see places where it mounts to barrel. If you are interested in selling please use PM. Thank you.
