Boker Damascus III

Post by Condor55 »

Hello all,

I am looking for information on a Boker knife that has "Damascus III" on the blade. It is a smooth red bone handled lockblade with the damascus blade. It came in a wooden presentation box. I have attached a picture of the same knife I found on the net but there was not additional information. I can't find anything about this knife. Year? History on the "III" damascus blade? Possible value?

Thanks
Condor

Welcome to AAPK.

From what I've been able to find (Google is my best friend) the Damascus III knives are advertised as having steel in the blades that come from the barrel of a German battle tank Leopard I. They are now on the third generation which is called the Leo Damascus III and retails for around $480.

All of the German Boker Damascus bladed knives I saw in my search go for big bucks (big to me anyway).

Jerry,

Thanks for the information. I have not seen many of these knives so I was curious about their history. I noticed two identical ones were on an auction site but I could not find out any history or how much they auctioned for.

Very nice looking knife.

Thanks again,

Condor

mrsteel,

I don't have it yet. I saw this knife on an auction site and really liked the combination of the red bone handles and the damascus. I had seen a Boker Damascus knife with black handles at Smoky Mt. Knifeworks and fell for the design. I am researching so that I get a Boker Damascus that will satisfy my craving for a while. On my budget I will not have many models! Saying that I know I will only be happy until I see the next one :)

They are really nice looking knives.

Thanks
