muskrat man ; O well. Its a hard act to fallow after Mossdancer's RMS Franconia super find.

I am woundering what jfarmer ( the CELL KING ) is going to post here next.

Heres a Shapleigh D-E that I have.The blades are worn out but the handles are still beautiful.

Thanks guys,I just wish the blades were in as good of shape as the handles.I see alot of these in the same type of condition.You would think the handles would show more wear....Good old knives!!

I merely meant, alot of those old knives had blades broken becuase they were used to pry with, my poor attempt at a lame joke

gott keep this thread goin'.
This is one I am still working on. I's an old imperial Courtesy of PAknives. It was pretty dirty when I got it, tore it down tonight and cleaned it out and put it back together. The blades still need to be cleaned up a bit more, but figured I would go ahead and post it now.

muskrat man ; Yes this tread is kool.

I see you fixing many old knives to be good users. But I do not see you make the blades real shinney or resharpen the blades. WHY is that?

I think a good user needs to be sharp to work well, and if the blades are polished they cut smoother. Am I wrong again?

Please let me know your felling on this.

That one realy look KOOL. neet handle.

Can I buy this one when you are done with it? Or is that wrong to do here too?

Carbon knives just patina after you use them for a while, so I don't bother polishing them up, I just leave them a matte finish. I figure it's just a waste of time to polish them up real shiney if you are going to use them, becuase they are just going to tarnish back up. Nothin' wrong with askin though!

I sharpen them too, it just may not be visisble in the photos, right now that little imperial will split a hair. I think I'm gonna keep this one, I really like the handles, and there isn't a whole lot of cell that I like, thanks for the offer though.

I DO plan to clean the blades up on that imperial better though, as they have some pretty deep scratches, looks like file scratches almost, I don't know. I'll post more pics when it is fully complete. I have 4 rebuilds going on right now, so it may take a while

I am working on takeing photos with my new camera.

This is a C. Platts' Sons blue ice trapper.

The blue in the ice looks super but not in my photo. Its only blue at one angle .
