Handle Material on W.H. Morley

I got this old Morley yesterday and referred to the handle material as "tree bark bone" on another thread, but then was browsing Steve Pfeiffer's book "Collecting Case Knives" and found a picture on page 51 of a Case 5279 with similar handles. The caption reads "This Case XX 5279 SS pen knife has what I refer to as 'snakeskin' stag, often observed on Case Tested and early Case XX-era knives." If you have the book, you can see the similarity to my Morley. What do you think, stag or bone? The Morley would be from between 1913 and 1927, so the era is comparable to the "snakeskin stag" era at Case.

I would agree that it is definitely stag.Not sure what type of deer has such a fine grained antler but here is another one that is not quite as worn;an I*XL whittler.

Thanks, guys. Another thing that intrigues me about this knife is the split backspring construction with the main blade riding on both springs, a long tapered center liner, and the small blades each riding on its own spring.
