That is a great knife Joe! The scales are the same type as mine. I love the blades on that half congress. These old knives have lots of character, that's where my focus is going to be.

Here's a nice little Camillus (3 9/16") that came in a few days ago. Scruffy blades. I like the little clip and the matchstrike on the main. Can someone tell me the purpose of the copeing blade? Is this a carpenter style?

Picked this up last night at our group's weekly get together. It's a gift from my ex-sister-in-law and her boyfriend. When she was over here the other night, she told me they had a couple of knifes for me. I was trying to work out how I was going to be appreciative when they turned out to be some cheap Chinese piece of crap. I had worried needlessly. I'm quite pleased with both. I like all kinds of advertising stuff and the little Irish Imperial advertising knife is a sharp little bugger. The Camillus is one big hunk of steel in the hand. All very nice. No need to lie about appreciating them.

Very nice jerry. ::tu:: I love the Camillius lok back wildlife series. I believe I have all of the different animal camios in that series but I am not 100% sure. They are a handful of knife for sure and it was a fun project to collect. It's great to see you got the box! Did you get the belt sheath as well? Congrats, and you're right you don't have to fake a thank you. ::nod:: Smoke

Thanks, Smoke. No, I didn't get the sheath.

Camillus does list this knife as a "Carpenter's Whittler". Coping Blade: These are narrow blades that have a sharp point. The edge is flat like a sheepsfoot, but the back angles sharply from the spine. They are ideal for cutting patterns on a flat surface. Also, their thin size makes them handy when cutting in tight spaces. Click here for illustration

This came in the mail today, it is a Clauss hobo knife made by case, same as a Case 6452 pattern. It is in great shape with strong snap and flawless handles.

The Camillus #72 is a great little knife! I've had one for more than twenty years. The model is called both Whittler and Carpenter, or Carpenter's Whittler, I believe. Popular knife for whittling and carving. The coping blade is made for detail work and cutting straight lines.

Edit: Didn't see you, TJ
Taking good care of that great looking rehandled one? :D

Had that little feller in my pocket for about the last two weeks. It's really a great knife and Orvet did a great job on it.
