Here's a gem that caught my eye on e-bay.
I think I stole it at $17 & change.
I mentioned that tj might like this one, as I thought of him when it surfaced.
It's just rich all the way around. 3 7/16", all half stops, soft snaps, super jigging, brass pins & liners. The center liner keeps everything in place, long pulls. It's got everything, including age.... Check out those blades!

O.K., I'm through.

Now that is a beaut. Some of the nicest and kind of unusual handles I've seen, even with the crack I think they're exceptional. Love the knife. Wish I'd have seen it first. Nice catch.

FRJ,

Could I see a picture looking down from the top with the blades closed? It looks like the master blade has been reshaped into it`s current form.

I have some German knives with this style jigging, I like it ::nod::

Dimitri, I think your right. It looks like that blade could snuggle between the file and the pen a little further.
Huh, I wonder what it was in it's first life. A spear, I recon. Well, she's a ramshackle sheeps foot now!

I sure like this knife. What do you think of it Dimitry, with all its warts and charms?

Here's an inexpensive ebay find of a few days ago. It feels good in the hand and is a very smooth knife. I really like this one, pin cracks and all.

"This is a vintage antique pocket knife 3 blade whittler knife pattern stamped Brandford Cutlery Co. Germany, c1870 1900. It is 3 1/4" overall length closed. Has excellent snap on blades, with no wobble."

The mail just came and my birthday present from me to me was in it. I picked up this GEC UN-X-LD Riverboat Gambler in Stag, from Bob Andrews at the AAPK store Old Hundred Collectibles. Thanks Bob, for the great price, fast ship and that nice little surprise in the box; a little Hard Arkansas Stone. You didn't have to but I'm glad you did.

Oh, monk, it's 4 1/4". I really don't use a knife much any more. But when I do I like to have the confidence of a larger knife, unless I'm carring a little knife. I don't mean to sound like some cowboy heading off into the last sunset. I'm not that old. Just 63. But knives these days don't solve a lot of our problems for us. I mean, you can't even stab anybody with them anymore....JUST KIDDING.... So were left with the mundane and pedestrian tasks of opening packages, shortening shoelaces, showing them off to any one who is willing to listen to us, unless they run in fear, and trading them for ceiling tile in that new condo.

Jerry, as someone else rather astutely puts it: it was floating in the bay.
