Tidioute Cattle Baron!
I just now looked at Great Eastern's New Release page. The newest knife up is the Tidioute Cutlery Cattle Baron and it's a real beauty! I especially like that it's on the large #53 frame.
Also, when my wife and I met Ken Daniels at the A. G. Russell Knife Event, he swore us to secrecy after he told us about the impending release of this knife. (The subject came up when I asked him if I missed any 2010 stockman knives this year, which he told me they haven't released any yet until now.)
Anyway, I can hardly wait to get my hands on one of these babies!

Re: Tidioute Cattle Baron!
That's a really gorgeous knife from Tuna Valley!
cbnutt, I didn't know about the 3 1/2" stockman. Will it be a new frame number/model?
Looks like it's gonna be happy knife hunting this holiday season!

Re: Tidioute Cattle Baron!
Just Early Bird purchased my Cattle Baron at one of my favorite online knife stores, CollectorKnives.net. Early Bird means that when the knives come in you're at the top of the order list. (I would really hate to miss out on one of these great knives.)
If you haven't checked them out yet, you ought to consider it. I've had nothing but fast, accurate and reliable service on every order.

Yeesss! There's another one to add to the list. I think I'll wait for another scale option though.

Re: Tidioute Cattle Baron!
yea iam not a fan of that golden rod either, but the white bone sounds interesting, i do like how they have kept all 3 blades, and added the punch, some knifes sacrifice a blade for that.

Re: Tidioute Cattle Baron!
Absolutely about the extra blade.
From the photo it looks like there's a cut away for ease of blade access. I think this will give the four-blade more of a custom look.
I don't mind the Goldenrod, I just don't care that much for the "wave" jigging. Yes, the white bone is what I'll be looking for on the three-blade.

Please note that the 3 blade model sports new Sheepsfoot and Spey blades to go with the Big Clip, they are longer and wider as well as thicker.

Re: Tidioute Cattle Baron!
Which is as they should be and the way I like 'em! If I had my way (Thank goodness I don't.Please note that the 3 blade model sports new Sheepsfoot and Spey blades to go with the Big Clip, they are longer and wider as well as thicker.
I like the way they feel in the pocket. If I don't have pocket room or am wearing church cloths, I can always use a folder sheath.
To me this is one of the biggest things that sets our favorite knife company apart, the stoutness of the frames and blades!
Thanks for the info GECTechman2.

I know what you mean....my wife said I may have to get back on the overtime list....looks like I'll need a second job...![]()
And yes, the Baron is really stout! I'm going to wait and see how well they sell to see
if I dare carry it.
Say Bob, on page 24 of the topic "Show off your favorite GECs", you uploaded two pictures of your super-collection.
Well done! I can't believe how awesome you grouped the knives together.
I was wondering, do you hang those cases on the wall? (which I think would be really cool!) Or do you have a
prominent place on a table?

Re: Tidioute Cattle Baron!
Well I've put in a fair amount of OT to put my GEC collection together...If they wern't such nice knives I mite take a break now
and then...Thank you for the kind words, I do hang the genuine stags on the wall, but the other display is just to large...so I use
an old drafting table to sit it on, works quite well and has just enough angle to easily see the knives. I think these 3 and 4 blade
big stockmen will be good one's to collect...I believe I'll put a few back...

Re: Tidioute Cattle Baron!
Here's a few more pics for comparison between the Cattle Baron and a Stockman, both having the same frames.
The Stockman is one of my EDC's, which I've tuned up the main blade edge to razor sharp.

Re: Tidioute Cattle Baron!
Wow,..the stockman isn't what I'd call a small knife(i have one in my EDC group),and that cattle knife looks really sturdy. Those overhead and underneath pics really helped see the difference.

bloomingeek,
That is one fine looking knife. Yours has the best color of any of the photos I have seen of those. Very nice.
