Shade, I'm sorry to hear of your health troubles and I hope that you get to feeling knife happy better soon. Sorry I can't help you with any answers for your questions. I have some books here somewhere that I can try to dig out that may have some helpful information to your questions. I'm in the process of doing some home repair and remodeling here at this time so it will take a couple of days before I can even begin to try to find the books. I will do it though if one of our knowledgeable members who, knows the answers misses your post and you don't get an answer. I'm sure someone will be along soon and be able to help you though. Get well soon and we have you in our prayers.

Shade, York had nothing to do with NY Knife Co., They were a company out of PA that imported their knives from Germany. NY Knife simply folded up in 1931 when they tried to auction off a full years worth of manufacturing and failed miserably. Imperial Knife aquired their Hammer Brand trademark in 1936.
Hope things work out for ya!

ea42 is Exactly right about YORK. My field is PA related knife companies and I have done research on this company as well.
Great stuff
OBTW, we all hope you are feeling better. always good to have knife friends
