Re: Remindton R33233
I can't see that tang stamps well enough to narrow the manufacture date down any. It would have been made in the 20's or 30's with any tang stamp . I don't recall ever seeing this paticuliar shield before, but there were many different advertising shields used. If the knife were 100 % mint I'd say around $500 or so. In its present condition I'm guessing $75 give or take. There seems to be an extra number in the pattern number you gave us, was that a typo? If you can describe the tang stamp we can date it a little closer.

I have never seen a Remington with more than a four digit number.

The first 3 is not real plan..but the best I can tell with a mag. glass...It looks like a 3..I tried 2 take some more pics. but as u can see from the pics.I took already...I cant really do any better with this cheap camera..if the first letter is not a 3..The only thing I can find in the book ...That even comes close....Would be a G..RG3233...I can find a R3233in the book but not a RG3233...It def. has been stamped 6 times..Sorry guy's that the best I can do on the info...Thanks a bunch..

Re: Remindton R33233
It`s an R3233
R- Indicates it is a pocket knife
3- At the end indicates bone handles
It`s a Cattle knife pattern.
It should measure 3 3/4' long closed.

My Cyclone Drilling advertising knife is not numbered as many ad knives were not. The knife does however match up to the R3163. This knife is mint, I also had one I sold to Keith Espenson and it was not numbered either.

They are out of business now. I actually had a letter that was written back in the 20’s on the company letter head . I believe I gave it to Keith Espenson because he loves Remington paper materials also. We can find out from him where the company was located. He is at the Tulsa show until Monday and then we can find out. Take care.

I'll try Googling it to see what comes up, in the meantime.

Re: Remindton R33233
Interesting letter.
When I did a search, it kept coming up with a drilling company still in business, but started relatively recently, in Wyoming. So I discounted that information.
