Just checked the mail and found this little pen knife that I piggybacked on an Amazon book order to get free shipping. Bear 232R, vintage 2007.

I got this 40's Case xx Pen in today, I'm guessin it's another 62042, No # on blade.
Can someone confirm this and recommend a good blade cleaner and rust remover ?

johnnie, what a great looking knife. I really like the size. Great winter coat carry, or workpants carry.

What is that secondary? A spey,...... or cotton sampler ....... or what? I like that blade.

I'm not for sure of the right terminology ....but I would say a cotton sampler blade. ::shrug:: ....I know I sure like it. :D

To me, it looks like a spey blade with an exaggerated belly.

Two parts knives. An Empire stag with a wharncliffe and a Northfield. The Northfield is shot, but I have hopes for the Empire. ::nod::

May I disagree with you? The scales on that Northfield are super salty and look fantastic. If the pile side handle looks as good as the mark side, replace the main blade and the broken blade with something appropriate and you'll have one fine looking knife there. JMO

You sure may disagree with me! As a new collector I'm always looking for opinions and information. I'd like to think that both knives are restorable to some degree. The scales on both are fantastic. Check your inbox Jerry.

I've been wanting a 340T for a while and bid/won this one. It arrived yesterday full of gunk and light surface rust ... a little oil and light cleaning with toothbrush and soft version of scotchbright pad and she looks a lot better ... she will be a great user. I can still see the original blade grind lines and it looks like it's never been sharpened.
