Russlock.

Hey guys, my brother really likes the Russlock, the only problem is he's left handed and can't use his right hand at all.
So my question is, did Case make a left handed Russlock?
And where would be a good place to look?

J.T. there's no nail nick on the blade so what's the left/right concern? Is it difficult for a south-paw to operate a liner lock that's on the pile side? Since I'm a righty, I'm just askin'.

I have a feeling it would be hard for him to operate properly, and safely.
The last thing I need is for him to get cut, maybe if he handled one we could see how easy it would be to open for him?

I just figured if they made a lefty version it would be better for him, but I'll check them out.

See if you can find one to handle before you buy one. In my opinion they look kinda cool but are impractical in real life.

Is that flowing piece of metal that projects off the back of the tang supposed to help you open the blade? If it is, it makes it awkward to open and for me it doesn't work worth a Scheiße.

I was already prejudiced against the liner lock so that didn't help.

You may think the knife is wonderful and it may work out great for you. If that's so, I'm pleased for you. My grandmother always said, "there's a lid for every pot."

I'm just being a cranky old bstd today and don't care much for them.

Some folks can open them like you would light a Bic lighter. My big ol' paw makes it hard for me to do that. I find it a whole lot easier to just bump it against my thigh.

Honestly Jerry, I don't care for the pattern either, but my brother likes it.

I don't like a liner lock either, but I have a few GEC's with them and I love them.

I hear ya. I should keep my opinions to myself but it's too late in life to start something new.

Mine's been opened less than a dozen times so it's probably still stiff and maybe that's the reason it's so difficult to open.

Maybe your brother should try a hawkbill if he likes Case knives More than plenty of blade to grab hold of to open safely, and it has a half stop

The Russlock,is my sons favorite also--------he carries an orange G-10 handle, everyday,that I gave him for Christmas,a few years back-----his main reason,was,that he could open it with one hand ----------guess that's why,they make so many different style knives ??? to each his own

he does like case knives, but he really likes the russlock.
I have a hawkbill that he could try, but it's not so flashy.
