I was wondering if anyone knows the approximate date of production for this old knife. Also, it looks to me like someone has tried to re-grind the blade, is that right or was it made that way? The tang is stamped CASE with no other markings on the blade. The sheath is marked CASE XX. I know very little about Case knives,or any other knives for that matter, so any input would be very much appreciated.
Thanks Rick

Hi Rick,
Good to see you here.
There are some knowledgeable Case collectors that check in, so hang in there. Until then, I'll say that looks like a model 523 (with either a 5" or 6'' blade?) made between 1940-1965, with some of the pommel removed and sharpened up some.
