I have a Remington RH28 with 4 inch blade. It has the molded handle with UMC embossed in it. I would like some history on this model just general info. someone said they thought it was Military? I also heard it might be Boy Scout? When was it mfg. etc. thanks

"UMC"="union Metallic Cartridge." This was one of the companies Remington merged with early in the century. Remington made knives from about 1920 til 1940. I've never seen anything to indicate these were military, and scout knives were marked as such (though scouts often carried all kinds of stuff).
Quality should not be an accident. So what is the explanation for some of the knives we've seen in the past few years? (from A Knifebuyer's Manifesto)
