I have on occasion, checked out what was posted on the BF site.
I have noticed that there seems to be a common occurance of a "chip-on-the-shoulder" mentality over at that forum.
AAPK has a more common or humble approach to questions and comments.
That is what attracted me here and not to BF.
Y'all seem pretty normal here, so don't anyone change!

I've been watching this thread after reading what happened over there. My first impression of BRL's answer was that he posted a pic of the patent drawing and that the offending response was his "signature". I'm still wondering whether or not that is the case.

I've looked at a lot of posts over there and find that forum difficult to navigate. I also notice the seeming "chip on the shoulder" attitude. I'm not a member and don't plan to be.

One of the many things that puts this group of "knifers" heads and shoulders above the rest is the attitude. The knowledge base here is phenomenal and the willingness of people to help just makes this place fun to hang out.

Let's keep it fun and enjoyable for everyone.

I better throw my vote in too. Ol' Bernie is essentially the north end of a south-bound equine, Grade AAA+ Deluxe. He poses as the Oracle of Delphi of the knife world simply because he occasionally gets PAID to testify as an "expert witness" in some obscure court case just northwest of Podunk, IA or Bumfuque, AR and has to maintain his pseudo-reputation of infallibility. A big double for him.

Now why ya gotta pick on Arkansas? A fine state with some great people here.

Guy's im not a member over there for the obvious reasons posted in this thread.

That said,

We, IMO, have MANY knife experts here, Elvis, Steve, Miller bros, just to name a few. I do not mean to leave out any one of our great knife experts but I cant name them all

My point is, I think we have a great knife information highway right here at AAPK and there is no where else I'd rather be

Let's be the bigger man then and continue to be kind and considerate to all of the our members. All forums have the opprotunity to educate and humor us. Put it behind us and live and learn. If you don't value someones opinion then don't ask them. Enjoy our group and encourage others to do the same.

At the risk of being mortally flamed here, I just don't see where BL's response should elicite such anger. He did go through the trouble of posting a patent copy, and his sarcasm was actually a general reference to folks who think that because something isn't seen in a book, it doesn't exist. That's just the way he posts, and frankly I usually find it pretty amusing. The guy's a wealth of information, you can't argue that, and he does give up his time to post it freely on these forums. OK, not free, the fee is a bit of sarcasm at times, but it's generally for entertainment value
