Wilder, no time soon sorry; Bulldog is one of the patterns; of sunfish that I collect. This is some of the best looking stag; that I have seen on the 1996. There is another one on eBay but the stag is not as nice. The seller wants $200 or best offer; he turned down $140. I am glad he did I got this one for $81; mainly due to it ended early in the day. If it had ended a 20:30 PST; I probably would have had to pass on it; I am sure it would have went for a lot more.

Thanks, Paul.

Can't blame for askin'.

That really is some outstanding stag!

I don't know much about Bulldog but I'm going to start reading up on the brand.

Are they still makin' the stag sunfish?

If not, what years were they made?

I'll check out the one on eBay.

have a knife day!

Nice knife show you've got going on this thread. Here are my two latest. Top is a 1980 Queen swell center whittler and the lower one is a Schrade Walden 834. The Schrade has been my EDC lately.

This one was waiting for me when I got home yesterday. I really like the pattern because I can pinch open the large blade.

I got these two today; a 1973 Case e-toe for a project knife; not really sure why I got the stag. Got to stop that impulse buying; can be hard on the wallet.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news , but I hope that you didn't invest too much in the "Case xx" copperhead . We need to look out for each other and someone has pulled a fast one on you .

Monk ,

Compare your shield and tang stamp to the above pics . Also the jigging is "off" and it looks as if there is an extra pin in the r.h. bolster . After you see so many of these it automatically registers when they come up . By the way , your knife is an excellent example of a Case xx era copperhead (no worries) .

Best regards , Bob

Great looking old knife, Gino.

I've been debating on weather or not to post a few pics of some of my recent halls - I don't want to "mess up" this thread with a pile of old rusty, broken knives

I don't think there is a "DEFINED" difference between "cracked ice" and imitation "mop"!
It is my belief that cell will "yellow" over time.
On some of my "cell wrapped" shell handles, I have removed the scales and sanded and polished them on both sides ::nod:: .
The difference is amazing when compared to a "yellow" one.
I think this should hold true on the solid cell scales, but I haven't tried it yet.
Maybe I will try it tonight and see for sure ::shrug:: , I've got a few junkers so drilling the pins out won't be a problem ::tu::

Local, hardware store, here in town---they are a Case Dealer, but sell @ full msrp!!!! (I don't buy knives there) except for their ""Christmas Specials""____________ Stopped in to get my Hunting & Fishing lisense re-newed,and saw it in their display case, while browsing their knives,---I really like the way it puts a quick edge,on a knife---it was only $10,and I really ""STINK"",when it come to knife sharpening ::dang:: --------------but let me fore-warn you Gino!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have cut myself, three times, since I got that dang thing, during my photo shoots   ::dang::

Here is a gaucho-styled knife that I received yesterday.

Image

I'm planning on using it as a camp knife, or whenever I'm in charge of the grill at summertime barbecues.
