Voos Jacoby-Bender 12K Gentleman's/Watch Farb Knife
Ok boys, don't call me too stupid on this one but I need your help. This knife on the shackle reads 20 and in a circle JB for Jacoby-Bender and it says 12K.
The tang reads Voos stainless. It does not say GF or gold filled anywhere. Is it a real 12K gold gentleman's knife tha was part of a watch chain design or is it something else?
Any ideas and comments are appreciated. By the way, I am in the mood to buy a new camera that takes as good of a picture as you guys produce. Any suggestions. Mine does not seem to focus well at close range. Thanks.

Nice old gent's knife.
As to the camera question, I would get into Kim Komando's web site and search around. I have always found her 'up' on the latest and very knowledgable about anything relating to photography. She even wrote a book about it. What the heck, call her show on Saturday, too.

ebay47129, could you be overlooking a manual focus overide on your camera? Also, when you place the object of your photograph in front of other objects, no matter what they are, the camera will focus on them, and not your intended choice. Thus the need for manual focus. Also, you can position your object in front of a vague background such as an overcast sky or a piece of light colored card so the camera will focus intirely on the subject. Does your camera have closeup features? Macro? Instructiions? Hope this helps.
Nice little knife.

The bail is 12k gold. I don't know if that includes the shell handles or not.
As to photos, I agree with all the above. You might also try not holding the knife in one hand and the camera in the other. You breathe, your heart beats, your arms pulsate slightly with each arterial pulse wave. It's physically impossible for you to hold the items motionless.
Try this: While sitting comfortably in a chair, cross one leg over the other. Relax. Watch your foot. It will move slightly up and down with each heart beat. It's natural and normal for it to do so. However, the higher your blood pressure, the more motion results.
Now, make your foot stop moving up and down.

Thanks Joe. What are the handle's made of? I don't want to mislead anyone. Your scanner suggestion is a good one.

Well, ebay, I just picked one up (different brand) and a magnet stuck right to it!!!
Even if a magnet doesn't stick, it's going to be some kind of metal
because it is what's called a "shell handle" and it's held in place with small tabs that are folded over the end of the liner. Notice there's no pins holding it together!
If they were celluloid or composite, you wouldn't be able to fold the tabs over without breaking them.
