IMO this should be in the counterfeit watch forum. 6247
it has 3 blades. Pins don't match. Indentations around pins. Spey blade at same end as master. Shape of master blade looks a little odd. No shield. I might not be right about all of these points but certainly enough issues to scare me away.

My opinion...a genuine Case Tested, not bad shape but buffed. It is a 6347 Spay Pen, most likely no pattern number stamped on the knife. The posistion for the spey is correct on this particular blade combo, the pen was always at the far end. Case made the 6347 Spay Pen with the blades in those positions until the mid 70's.

I think the biggest problem with this knife is the description. First of all it is very doubtful that the knife has a pattern # stamped on it, most from this era did not. Secondly rather than 6247PE it should be 6347PE. Thirdly to say it is mint with a light cleaning is contradictory(in my opinion it has been heavily cleaned), but I do not class it as a counterfiet as I believe it to be basically authentic. My guess is that this example was manufactured around the World War Two time frame, I have seen many examples of Case green bones from this period right around the war with two end cover pins being iron while the center pin was brass. Many of the military issue folders were all iron during the second World War, because brass was needed for the war effort. The comments by my good friends here on the forums concerning this seller are well taken, I'll have to watch out for him..... JMO

is this one mint
Nice knife but not close to mint. I don't like the the backspring pin, I have not seen a brass center pin and end pins of nickle silver myself. Also if you look at the picture of the knife closed from top you will see that the master blade is short, it almost is short of the bolster. Tested 47's in green bone are nice but I think I would pass on this knife.

This knife was made for Army Air Corps pilots during World War Two. You will notice it also has the odd brass center pin. There is also a very good picture of an identacle knife in the book "POCKET KNIVES OF THE UNITED STATES MILITARY" by Mike Silvey. The knife in the book has this odd brass center pin also. It is pictured on page 69. If one is willing to do a little research on the matter, then I'm sure you will find these are authentic examples. I have seen this quite a few times. Take Care

Here is a Case TL-29, also issued to our fighting men during the second world war. It is made with iron bolsters, pins, and liners. Government specifications required this as brass was a strategic material and was needed for other items such as cases for rifle cartridges. This knife being of all iron construction is typical of an example that was produced during the years of 1941-1944(the height of the war), yet look at the Tested Stamp. This is why many folks believe the tested stamp may have run a little longer than 1940. Boy, I tell you you gotta be a bit of a history buff to collect knives. I've been doing this for more years than I care to remember and I learn something every day. It's just like watering a thirsty flower. Take Care
