1940 -1965 Case XX Stockman Question
I bought an old 1940 -65 Case X stockman and it has been sharpened alot over the years. The blades do not close all the way down due to the sharpening. Do you think I should file a little off the kick on the bottom of the blade to allow the blades to close further or should I just leave it alone. I found it on ebay for $6.00 including shipping and it has great snap and no pitting, but it does show some blade when closed due to all the sharpening. I would just have to file a small amount off all three blades. What do you guys recommend ?

If you aren't expecting it to be collectors item, and at that price it's not likely, I'd say heck yeah. File sloooowly, you can't put it back. Start with the master, or the lowest sitting blade, if necessary, until the tip is nesting in a satisfactory manner. Then work up to the next blade with the problem. It's seems like it's the sheepsfoot that often sits too proud, sometimes even when the knife is new.
Then carry it with pride.
JMO.
YMMV.
