Post by smiling-knife »

Hi everyone. The knife for auction is a minty Schatt & Morgan Doctor's knife with beautiful chequered genuine mother of pearl scales. 1 /100 produced. It is not used at all and has the original box. It is a real beauty. The starting bid is $50.00. All proceeds from this auction will go to our friend Tank. Insured postage at my expense anywhere in the world. The highest bid posted in this thread as of 6.00 pm eastern time Sunday June 6th will win this knife. Any questions, please ask. Thank-you in advance. :D s-k

Giving that knife for the auction is a real kindness. I'll bid $110.

Thanks, I do think it is a dandy. But you know, in this country a man or womans life depends on having health insurance. A person can be insured and pay premiums (either directly or thru lower wages because the employer is paying for it) all their lives and then, because they can no longer work, their insurance is cancelled. Somtimes they are eligible for COBRA, but until lately the premiums for Termination COBRA have been very high.

Its a kind of musical chairs! Will you have insurance when you become really ill or like Tank will you get left without a chair. Social Security Disability is good insurance if you can get it and then last through the waiting period before your medical kicks in. Sorry for the rant but this country being rated 35th in the world for health care is a real shame. LOL I can see the problems, but like everyone else, I am short of answers. Anyway, I sure do like that knife!

Once again, thank you Steve, Joe, and everyone who participated very, very much. It is a shame to work all your life and be left high and dry. God blessed me with great friends like you though and for that I'm grateful.
