Another Lumberjack on eBay

Post by Hukk »

Well, I found another Lumberjack on eBay, the Moose pattern.

Same rules as before.

http://cgi.ebay.com/Bulldog-Folding-Kni ... dZViewItem

Take a look at this knife. Anyone know if it was a first, second or third generation?

This knife was made in 3 generations, 1st (1978-1987), 2nd (1988-1992), and 3rd (1993-1995).

Please vote for what you think is correct.

Lets just vote for a couple days and comments on Sunday lets see how votes stack up., Thanks for your participation!

This is a 7 day poll.

Hukk, I think you already know my opinion on this particular Moose. Old parts, new handles. I believe the coon stripe is 2nd. Basketball season is upon me so knives have to take 2nd seat!! Norsefan

Hukk,
as you might remember, I got ripped off by Buzz on one of these and lots of others too, purported to be "Gronauer's Vault" and all that other "happy horse sh*t"
My vote is,,,looks like first but is really third,,,or later?
Another honest (shameful) ::barf:: s'cuse me there ::barf:: (act) offering from the "silver-kiddie" , OH SO ::tired:: of zubbie-boy ::disgust:: ::td:: and his brown-noseing cronies. He's knowledgeable,,,so what ? ,, he uses that gift to deceive and line his pockets. JP, rest his soul, must be rolling around shrieking. Sorry for the rant folks, this banana-slug is IMO, a first-class shyster. Anyone have some salt ? (For the slug)

As for me- 8) ::nod:: ::tounge::
Thanks for showing others the diff Hukk, before someone else gets ripped off by the guy who should be setting examples,,its a shame.,,,
Hey, dy'a think he'd live up to the PKCS touted and written pledge to promptly give cash back if not happy with any PKCS purchase?? I've got several I'd ship express just to give 'em back, even at 25% loss. I'll never see that out of them. One more Hukk, we (you and I) mayhaps should post about the Shapleighs and Simmons HDWE (I know there are more) purported to be made from NOS miraculously found at the plant in Germany, but made to sound as if you are getting a knife truly from that era or earlier, with a printed Gurantee of buy-back (yeah-right) I have some examples if you are game for that one,,,perhaps under the counterfeit forum?
Be good, hope your knees are well healed. Take care,-Glenn

Des anyone know what generetion this is categorized into. Also there is another name it goes by, norsefan is referring to it and I believe El Lobo has used the term. It is put in this generation merely to have a place to categorize it.

A very slyly misrepresented knife?

New/Old Old/New stock?

Cobbled?

A miraculous find from the dungeon in the Olbertz factory?

It spans generations?

Sorry...J/K...sorta. ::nod::

Cobbled is the word I was looking for but there is one feature on the knife that defines it as a certain generation even though it may have been made as late as the late 90's.

Hukk,
I will bite to hear the terminology. The 1983 blade would indicate 2nd generation. Of course the newer stag {late 90's or later} would render it not a true 2nd generation. I think some of us: (referring to the knife site folks), coined the "cobbled" term.
Let's hear you out.

Of course I meant (1983 blade coupled with a long matchstriker pull) on me previous post. Sorry for the omission.

I call it a second generation with an * . Some of these were made in the late 1990's, by some accounts even into the fifth generation which started in 2000. I can't put out a cobbled/FAKE generation because of some upcoming projects and to do so would just invite unwanted flack. Some of the knives came with a paper written by Jim Parker stating that they were made after the second generation but most sellers just threw them away and sold them as first generation, BUT others had Jim Parkers guarantee that they were made between 1981 and 1986. The guarantee is not worth the paper it is written on, it is a lie, see I Like Knives' comment. By many accounts, the gaurantee was copied and sold on cobbled knives.
So, I put them in the second generation category with an asterick merely because there is no where else to put them. IMO, this knife is a fake second generation, likely made around 2000 and is a strong reminder that found old/new stock by this outfit on an annual basis, is likely FRAUD!

That's OK, I know that you are very knowledgable in this area and I knew what you meant. I think that some of the activities that went on are really criminal, but impossible to prove. OK, I bit, the taste of soiled socks is quite strong. ::barf:: ::barf:: ::barf::

Sorry Hukk, I wanted to whittle your quote down a bit as I had my 'lengthy' post for this month.
1) Actually, working backwards on your post; It's fraud, plain and simple ::disgust:: because "they" know what they are doing. Its a damn shame, and forces me to seriously question the integrity of the hobby as time ticks away. No to mention (but ya'll know I will) THIS outright and shameless deceit coming from the zubbie camp. Those who you'd think would have the utmost integrity. Thanks for leading by example, you "imposter to the throne" ::barf:: My only hope is that he'll run it into Chap 11 and lose his ass so someone 'worthy' can lead the way, or at least, set any basic example of honestly intentioned business practice. Want one more example? Zubbie-bear couldn't even take the effort to proofread the only reference book we have to look through and cops a major attitude for anyone having the gall to bring it up. Depressing.
Other than that, hope all youzguyz are well. ::tu::
Regardless, I hold steadfast my personal integrity and honesty. 'Spose he goes to church? No wonder "he" hides at shows.
Just like Nixon, a crook.
