Desert Ironwood Buck 110 Project

Post by snorkel »

Just finished putting this one together tonight. Thanks to the the tips form Dale, MM etc this one turned out spectacular, not a single crack, check void etc in the
ironwood and I pinned it like a Schrade and because the rocker pin is tighter now it actually locks up better than from the factory.
The scales are epoxied using mid cure epoxy and then pinned. I used dust from the ironwood sanding to color the epoxy as well just in case, but the scales turned out tighter than the factory ones with no glue lines. I left the blade pin in place and just swung the sides of the frame around during the construction.

The all spun pins on the 110s always annoyed me because you could always feel them when using the knife.

That is an outstanding knife. Superb craftsmanship and the new scales are awesome.
