Noddy, that's a very nice Ray Cover. I have one of his hunting knives. Don't hear much about his work anymore.

I got this Stockman back in the Eighties. It has been used on and off through the years.
It's been a while now, and it was nice to put it in my pocket again. :)

Hmmm. Ranger Providence stamped. I wonder if it's made by Colonial or Imperial. I have a Ranger Providence LB 125 Viet Nam Veterns Memorial knife that I've wondered who made it. The knife opens and closes very smoothly and feels solid in the hand.

That's a very nice knife, Froggy. It looks like it would have a "quality feel" in the hand. I know mine does.

Anyone know who made these Rangers or have a guess?

Both LEVINE'S and PRICE say that Ranger is a Colonial brand.
I love that shield. and quite fitting for Memorial Day.

Yes I'm pretty sure Ranger it is made by Colonial. I thought I wrote so, but apparently I did not. Started the filenames with "Col", but then Alzheimer's struck again... ::tired::

I also have a Barlow from the Scrimshaw Series...somewhere...featuring a trout.
It was in fact one of my first Barlows (if not the first) and I remember liking it so much that carried it every day for a long time. I've liked the Barlow pattern for EDC use ever since. :D

Jerryd6818,
Nice Memorial knife! ::nod::

Thank you for the information, gentlemen. Colonial doesn't get much respect in the knife world but I gotta tell you, this lock-back is a quality piece and it looks like from the picture, Froggy's stockman is as well.

Nothing extravagant, just a nice and functional Stockman that keeps on cutting.
Just the way I like it! :D

Oman, I had never seen one of those Kershaw Double Cross knives before......looks like a sweet little EDC. I went out to Youtube, and there is a demo video of it. Wharncliffe and clip blades, liner lock on both blades, thumb studs, 3 1/2" length, but looks like a traditional pocket knife.

Wish it was made in USA instead of Japan, but the quality looks decent. Also don't care for the red wood handles....but I went ahead and bought one off e-bay. Can't wait to try it out.
