i cant find any reference to any thing but bone for 92s. certainly not bakelite or any celluoid i've ever seen on a case of that era. the crnter pin does'nt appear to be spun. frame does'nt look like a case to me. mine does'nt have cut outs for the nail nicks. that shield was not used in the seventies. the blades look authentic but don't jive with the handle material or shield.

edited: one of our smarter members explained that the easy open indentions were discontinued in the 80s the way mine is. thanks lbb

well I agree with jonet143 I do not recall seeing this handle material used on a case of that era I may be wrong on this but I do not ever recall seeing that shield type used either. the nail pull looks off to. the blades look like the real deal and probably are. I wouldn't touch this one, just my read, take it for what it's worth.

#6292 is bone not whatever that handle material is. I think it is added, also the shield looks like the type that has the point on each end a pushed through the handle to attach. Blabes and frame are probably Case.

LOL, I must have been tired,
Yeah should be a bone handle type material.
Dunno why someone would want to make a knock off of this knife, doesn't book for very much in mint, let alone a used model.
I would agree frame, and blades appear legit to me, possibly re-handle job.

OMG!!!

That is an old (1920's to 30's) era Colonial Knife Company frame with Case blades installed. Amazing what some people will do.

In the CASE XX and newer stampings, the 2-blade 92 was only made in bone, the 3-blade 92 only in bone and stag. That's it for handles (other than SFO's I mean).
