I've always thought the stockman was the perfect knife pattern. But recently all I want to carry is a single blade locker.

Hey, that's not fair!
I like most of them and I love having a choice, and my preferences are not constant either... And of course the kind of use is a factor. Almost as having to choose between your own kids...
I don't ever want to make such a choice, but if I for some reason would have to choose one pattern only to put in my pocket and use for the rest of my life, I think my choice would have to be a 3 7/8" or 4" Stockman.

Well, I chose the Jack but I am very torn between the Jack and the Whittler. Could have gone either way.

Knice Case'uns Mr. Monk
I'll hafta say my favOrite is/are Jack kanifes
but I own more stockmans than anything else.
I like some of just about any style when they're made right.
Almost as hard a question as: 'which is your favOrite grandchild?'
BTW, peanuts and barlows are jacks so be sure to combine those three into one total %.
Guess I could post pics of each candidate style to show my
general state of impartiality.
Naaaa, hate to bore ya'll to tears with a bunch of PK pics.

Single blade trapper, but how often do you see them
Otherwise its a toss up between the large sodbuster and the 4 1/4" cattleman (stockman with a spey/awl combination)
Also very attached to the Victorinox Pioneer Harvester and Pioneer Rancher models

Re: NEW POLL **VOTE** WHATS YOUR FAVORITE STYLE OF KNIFE
I have a pathologic weakness for E-O jacks with long-pull, spear master blades, regardless of manufacture.
Even now, I will stop and look at any such knife.
If there was an E-O Store on AAPK, I'd be in there looking on a regular basis.
The most errors I ever made buying knives were done so with long-pull, spear bladed E-O jacks, and none of those were Robesons. I let myself be enticed by a great looking knife, with a branding other than Robeson, and I just could not leave it alone.
Some of them turned out to be something other than what they were advertised.
E-O knives are like E-O women were when I was young and stupid. Now, I'm older and still stupid at times, but only with pocketknives, not women. Been with the same woman now for over forty years. She's a Classic.

Poor Canoe had to go... I like those too...
I would have guessed more votes for the good old Barlow. And I'm almost feeling sorry for the Muskrat...
I've got to stop checking this thread...
