I (jonet143) use a drop of inox on the joints and wipe off any excess and then ren. wax with bare fingers. i hope that's not a perversion! ::paranoid:: ::paranoid::

I hope it was just a small flesh cut.

I just got bit tonight. Sometimes they just snap faster than we can move... ::doh::

I am making several chef knives for Christmas gifts and one bit me last week. That's what I get for making 9 nine knives at a time.

I got bit a couple days ago by a Schrade 881Y that my Dad gave me last weekend. I was opening the blades to take a scan of the knife & opened the clip blade first, then the spey blade........then I tried to open the sheepsfoot which is on the same spring as the spey............of course it was stiff and my finger slipped and the clip blade bit my index finger. ::doh::

I had, of course, sharpened it before taking the scan. ::doh::

Yes, I think it happens to us all every now & again. The bright side is that a cut with a sharp knife is a clean cut that heals faster.

Dale

Here is the 881Y with the sharp edge.

If I cut myself, I usually hit the bottle...you know, just to ease the pain and help it heal.
