I guess I'm the newbie

Post by Frequency »

Thanks for having me on the site. I registered today because I keep finding myself back here every time I have a knife question, or even just to cruise the site.
Seems there are some REAL experts here, I will not claim any title other than I love the craftsmanship, utility, history and overall pleasure in owning some of my knives. I have had some for many years, and recently have been picking up one or two. My most cherished are ones that have been owned by family members.
I also have a small collection of razors, starting with my Great Great Grandpas, blade stamped "The Celebrated" which he whittled a cover for complete with a nail for the pivot pin (I imagine after the original cover was worn or broken). I also have several of my Grandfathers including his leather strap, he was a barber so I have his scissors and a hand operated set of clippers. Clear to my fathers "Safety" razor from his service in WW2.
Anyway, enough of the blah, blah, blah. I enjoy knives and plan on learning much from all of you.

Yes, the items with some sort of sentimental value attached to them often become the most cherished possessions! :)

Welcome aboard, Frequency!
Quality should not be an accident. So what is the explanation for some of the knives we've seen in the past few years? (from A Knifebuyer's Manifesto)
