Old Timer Pocket Knife 100th Aniversary 1904-2004 ?

I have a Old Timer Pocket Knife (SCHRADE U.S.A 340T) etched on the blade, and on the Knife itself is (100th 1904-2004 OLD TIMER) on it.Does this knife have any extra value since it is a 100th anniversary 1904-2004 marked on it? What is my knife worth? What Year was it made.or how old is it? I can E-mail a picture of it.I aquired this Old Timer from a trade,a cheap made big knife I paid only 6 bucks for it. He liked it so much he gave me this Old Timer. I have had it put away for nearly a year now.It's still very new looking not any wear at all.

They shut down halfway through 2004, if it was USA made I would say it does.

Let's think about this;

That knife was made during the last year that Schrade USA was in operation. They did not operate for the full year before declaring bankruptcy and ceasing production. I don't know how many of those 100th Anniversary knives they made but it is bound to be a whole lot fewer than the standard model of the same knife which was in production for a number of years. Generally speaking, the lower the production numbers, the more the price rises over time if there is a demand for the knife. Schrade USA knives are no longer being made so the number is finite while the number of collectors now gathering them up has grown and most likely will continue to grow. With all that being said, I think you have yourself a keeper. Certainly it is worth considerably more than the $6 you have in it after the trade you made.

If I owned it, that knife would go in the the permanent collection. It sure would make a good start on a Schrade collection for you if you were so inclined.

What Phil said! If you like it, put it away and then go to ebay and find a dirty one without the bells and whistles (100 year, bone, ltd. edition, etc,etc), clean it up and sharpen it and put it in your pocket! You may find yourself looking at knives some more. Looks are free, right?
