Who owns the trade mark or stamping for Remington knives?

Post by Turkey Creek Tom »

I know that Remington is one of the big collector knives.
According to the book Remington stopped making knives in 1940 and sold to Pal.
I understand that Camilluis made the reproductions beginning in about 1982.
From overseas today...who has the Remingtong stampings?

I'm not quite sure if you mean the dies and stamps used to make knives, or the brand names and rights?

Remington still owns all those trademarked brands, but has the knives made on contract of course, as you mentioned. Some from Asia...some very recently at the Arrowhead Facility in Tenn. I don't know if Camillus makes anything for Remington anymore. But, with both United (Arrowhead) and Camillus in such financial trouble, it doesn't sound very good for any new Remington knives made here in the U.S.A. ::tear::

But we can still hope they will pull through financially.

I read in Knoxville's News Sentinel yesterday that both Arrowhead and United have to be out of the building's by the end of the year. One is already sold, said something about auctioning off equipment, not sure on that. Just kind of skimmed over the story.
They are officially out of business, bankrupt. I will post a link when it gets put up on KNS website.

Will they be going to China after all? :(
