Case Hatchet & Knife Combo
I am always hesitant to post some of the things I find. Maybe someone who wants it already knows! But again maybe it will help a fellow member.
The Tang stamp points to 1932-1940. I have never seen one of these, looks pretty awesume.

I have one that I bought years ago and one I missed out on for $20 because I drove around the block instead of backing up to a yard sale. The stag handled ones are the desirable ones.

I've seen them in walnut like the one in the auction (which ain't in bad shape at all!), stag, and I have one in a green "swirly" looking celluloid. While the one up for auction isn't perfect, it's really hard to find them in much better shape. I'm surprised the bid isn't higher, but suspect it will go for a lot more by the time the auction ends.

I love this pattern. The stag is beautiful. I have the super rare Black Onyx celuoid in mint condition. It was purchased back in the 40's and put away. What makes it so rare is the celuoid not being burned out. My camera is out to lunch for now. When it's fixed I'll post some pics. My camera is fixed.

Re: Case Hatchet & Knife Combo
I'm interested in the walnut handled set in this thread. I had a friend bring me his family heirloom to repair. It must be the same style. The locking bar is broken but it pivots in the middle of the handle instead of at the butt end like all the others I have seen up till now. Can you tell me anything else about this handle variation? I saw a post by Bernard Levine on another forum in which he stated that there were 3 or 4 different latch mechanisms on these Sets. Any information appreciated.
