*UPDATE* Folks, it seems I've made a rather large faux pas regarding the below knife. After talking with several fellow collectors, as well as seeing that someone has also been in contact with the seller with the same conclusion, it seems that the knife IS legit. There is a pin hole in the handles that lack a shield on a goodly number of these knives, and the reason there is a missing handle pin on the mark side is because the shield pin would have taken its place. I'm not sure WHY this occured on so many knives, but the numbers don't lie. I'm pretty embarassed over all this, but I wanted to make it known, and I do apologize to the seller. Think I'll just stay out of the counterfeit spotting business

Guys, don't bid on this contraption, it's got an extra pin on the pile side, no shield, massively short (and narrow) pen blade. It's a cleaned/parts knife if there ever was one. Of course he'll never admit it:
