In 1878, New York Knife Company began using the Hammer Brand arm and hammer logo mark. In 1882 they added the words “Hammer Brand” to the arm and hammer logo mark. According to the USPTO records, it shows registration in 1886, and renewal/change in 1916. In 1931 New York Knife Company went out of business declaring bankruptcy, and yes, Imperial acquired the Hammer Brand trademark in 1936, reregistering it in 1937, updating it in 1945.jfarmer wrote:I just got this one in today. It has been cleaned but it is still very nice. Does anyone know the approximate age of this knife? The closed length of it is 2 13/16 inches.
