Sunburst asked to see some pictures of Col Coon knives. Here is a picture from the July 1982 edition of National Knife Collectors magazine of a set of Tennessee Jacks, I had Col Coon to make for me as a Gov John Sevier Commerative set. I chose jacks because Sevier was referred to as "Nolichucky Jack". He was the first governor and one of the founder's of Tennessee. The two knives one bone and one stag were eteched in gold and were in a walnut dispaly box with a bronze medal image of Sevier. I no longer have the set as I gave them to my son when he graduated from college.

Also I am going to show some other Col Coon's. Adrian Harris invited me to come visit his operation Tennessee Knife Works several times, but I never did. Wish I had! Wish I had bought those Red Bone Hound and Blue Tick Hound sets...and the greatest of all his Tennesssee Pearl Handle with all the fancy file work...Whoa! I never even got one of his famous 'mule day' knives.

Nice stag on those Coon's... I guess you could say they are "Coon's in Stag's clothing"

(forgive me, I couldn't resist) .
I particularly like that Barlow !
Thanks for posting those...one doesn't get the chance to see a Col Coon very often. Amazingly handsome knives !

Your pictures are most appreciated...I agree with Diamondback that we don't get to see Col Coon pics everyday...

I have been watching Col Coon knives on ebay and internet stores every chance I get and just wanted to share that the barlow in the right hand corner sold for $164.00 a few weeks ago and the stag lockblade is listed for $299.00 at one of the internet knife stores...

So if anyone ever gets a chance to pick up a coon at a reasonable price do it...If you don't like it let me know and I will reimburse you for your trouble..

How did you get to know Adrian Harris?

I wrote Adrian about makeing the commerative knives for me. He called me at home that night and we talked. I met him at several of the knife shows. He set up displays with a big stuffed coon in overalls as you see stamped on his knives. He invited me to visit his Tennessee Knife Works but I never did. He did the blade etching on several club knifes by companies like Case. He also made several club knives. Including the "MULE DAY" knife show knives. That event is held each April in Columbia, Tennessee. My dream knife to own would be a TENNESSEE RIVER PEARL STOCKMAN by COL COON. Adrian was real easy to talk with. A down to earth fellow. But so were all the other fellows who made or sold knives at shows.
