CLOSED - Tuna Valley Cutlery Co - For Johnnie Fain

Post by Bryan »

Hi Everyone! :D

Perry (knifekid) Miller has graciously donated a fantastic new knife to auction off here for Johnnie Fain. All proceeds will be sent to Johnnie's widow Annettee.

The knife is an absolute stunner that sports a very cool old brand name. Perry had these made by Great Eastern Cutlery. The project was started in 2007 and it was just recently introduced. The knives are stamped 2007. The Model is the scout and it has Tuna Valley Cutlery Co. (TVCC)’s pattern number stamped on all of them, the number is 5201 (5=Stag, 2=blades, 01 is the pattern). The specs are as follows:
Total of 150 made and all are serial numbered on the front bolster. This one is number 56.
Stag handles - This one has outstanding stag!
Crest Shield
440C Stainless Steel brushed blades with no etching
Rear bolster
Brass pins and liners

Closed length is 3 3/4"
Comes with a COA that matches the serial number and is signed by Perry.

Maybe someone can post some history about the Tuna Valley Brand. I believe it has a Case connection. ::shrug:: ??? See what you can dig up ::tu::

Auction will end next Monday evening (03-08-10) at 8:00 PM PST and I'll ship priority mail on Monday or as soon as the winner's shipping address is secured. Winner will be contacted by me on Sunday evening via PM and email for said shipping info.

See pictures below... Thanks a ton Perry!!!

Thanks for the bids so far guys! ::tu:: There is a Case connection with the Tuna Valley name. David Anthony will be doing a write up on it for Knife World in the near future. It will be on what little is known about the old mark and how I came across it.

I've already got one from Perry or I'd bid. It's really a nice knife! Made by Great Eastern and up to their high standards. Very generous of Perry to help Annette! Tuna Valley is Perry's own brand just started. This first knife was designed by him.

Congratulations to Gary!!! Payment has been received. Thanks so much to all biders & thanks again to Perry for donating the knife.

I will send Annettee the $150 asap.

Gary has been away from the Internet for a couple days, but I think he plans to re-donate this knife back to AAPK to do another auction on Johnnie's behalf for club expenses.

I will keep you posted 8)
