Here's the latest fake Case to avoid. Actually, the pattern reminds me of the 4 3/4" art deco style folder that Empire made; some contract knives by them can be found marked Shapleigh Hdwe and Norvell-Shapleigh. But, that ain't the Case with this one, it's not old and never made by Case.

Im curious after seeing so many bogus knives lately on eBay, is there any repercussions for the buyer who purchases a counterfiet knife? It seems to me using the excuse " Im no knife expert" or "I dont know anything about this knife" or" I bought this at an estate sale" does NOT give any seller a license to STEAL!!!!!!! Ebay needs to step up and spend some of the easily earned money and hire someone to kick out these horrible counterfiet knives AND sellers.

I can only speculate about ebay and not state known facts, but it seems to me that they have very few, if any, people in their employ that have any knowledge whatsoever in the entire field of antiques and collectibles, let alone a single and somewhat obscure hobby like knives. Does anybody out there actually know a single person who works for ebay? And, if so, does that person collect anything other than paychecks?? Muddy

good point, I do know from time to time there are people who put scam car adds on ( usually a $15K-$30K car for $4900 or so at a "buy it now" ) and they stay on a few hours until someone on eBay stops the add. I guess bogus $100-$400 ( or so ) knife thiefs are too small game for them. Very agravating though.

I though it was interesting that the pictures of the "Case" knife were dated 2003.
