Question on Queen Steel Knife

Post by Bearcat68 »

This knife has the words Queen Steel on the tang with the crown over the letter "Q". It is 3 1/2 " closed and has two blades. Is this part of Queen Cutlery? There are no other markings on either blade or the handle. And is this enough info to determine a timeframe of manufacture? Thanks for any help, Jim

Bearcat, if you could post a picture, some folks around here could probably tell you for sure. But it sounds like you're describing a 1949-1955 tang stamp. This is a Queen Cutlery company knife.

Bearcat...

Rangerblue is on target with the dating though it did run until 1958..this was a time when Queen wanted to advertise the fact that they used a stainless formulation as well..the whole stainless tang stamping in its different styles and type ran from 1946-1958.
