case trapper 10 dot question
i picked up a case 10 dot trapper 54 pattern, prety decent looking kinfe over all, prety solid, tight, but i have a concern, i just noticed it has brass liners, i was thinking they were never brass in the early 70,s ?? did i possably get took on that or did they actualy use brass then also ??
o and another thing, i also , "thought", all trappers have a half snap ? this one does not.

Couldn't answer that honestly but My oldest Trapper is from 1974 and it has No half stop but has a Hell of a back spring,it almost jumps out of your hand when it snaps open

Re: case trapper 10 dot question
cool ,
iam thinking its probly ok, exellent snap on both blades, spey blade i think still has factory edge, clip is probly 95% full just guessing, prety redish brown bone, i gota little scared after "thinking" they didnt use brass, and i guess i had the idea they should have half snap.

I think your ok Cbnutt,
I have a few trappers with brass liners from the 70s.
Half snap I think depends on the knife.

Re: case trapper 10 dot question
I find the jack knives have half stops
My 54's all don't have half stops.
I'm sure that's a nice one, I'm a real fan of the 70's

Hey cbnutt,
Here are two 54s one with brass and one nickel, neither have a half stop. Both are 10 dot knives (1970).
Good find..........................you'll enjoy it!

Re: case trapper 10 dot question
No half stop on trappers, on some patterns, yes. Trapper, no.
