Would the guys that know old knives look this old Russell over and tell me if you think it is right. Click the pic twice and you will get large picture. I did this and you can see the emery paper lines in the pins it is obvious that it has been cleaned at the least.

3 tailfeathers almost buffed out of the arrow? Blade sanded?

Not an expert on older knives though...maybe you'll get some more help.

Looks genuine to me, but as Lobo said, heavily cleaned, even the handles buffed down. Originally those handle pins would have peend crowns, not buffed flat like that. And the entire knife, handles blade etc would have a much rougher unfinished look on one in original condition, remember these were manufactured to be the ultimate in an inexpensive work knife.

Another hint that the handles have been worked is there is a difference in the grain of the bone on the bottom side of the handle. The grain seems to have been sanded out in comparison with the top and is lighter in color.
