Anyone know the story behind the more recent Boker knives with black delrin handles and red shields?
I just scored a 7474 stockman, NIB, for a decent price. The label on the gray "Tree Brand Classic" box reads: "7474BD Red Shield".
I haven't seen a catalog with the red shields, but I've seen a few on feebay with this combination.
Whaddaya think? "Workingman's" model?

rangerbluedog, I like it! The red shield sets of the handles. Good score.

Thanks Bull. Kinda looks like a Georgia Bulldog doesn't it?
I was searching on the 'net and found someone selling these, claiming it was a SFO from 2009.
I've seen the stockman and big trapper, but I think there may be a coupla more patterns in this scheme.
It's a quality knife, but it looks like it was intended to be a no frills working knife.

I think it adds to the looks.
Heinkels have a red shield and black shield.
They use it to show the SS from the high carben steel.
Is this why Boker is doing this too ?
