WHAT'S THE HYPE WITH THIS KNIFE? CASE TESTED XX PRE 1940

Hello again y'all!! I was just wondering.....what's the hype with this knife? I thought that it would be one of my cheaper knives, but am shocked with how it's going on ebay! It's only up to $51 now, but it has a whopping 26 watchers!...the most of any of my knives! Plus, it still has 4 and a half days to go!!! I was just wondering, what's so special about it? Oh, it is also stamped on the second blade....on the back is an oval, with Case XX Tested in it. As seen in the picture, it's stamped on the main blade with Case Tested XX. No Pattern Number. So if you guys have a few free moments and wouldn't care to reply to this topic, I'd just like to know a little about this knife. Thank you!!

I believe the 3 most important things a collector looks for when purchasing a knife are- brand, age and condition. There are numorous other things taken into consideration, but for me those are the 3 top things. And it appears yours has all 3. Its a pre 1940 knife, it is the most collected brand, and looks to be in excellent condtion.
Why don't you post a link to the auction, you might even get a bid from some of the guys here.

Thank you for replying Remington Collector! Well, all of my knives are old Cases, but I was stumped at why this one was getting so much attention. They're all in about the same condition, some better than others, but this one isn't the best condition that I have. I was thinking that everyone likes it because of the shield. Maybe? Gosh, it took me days of researching to find that it's called a "bomb" shield. Does anyone know what the bomb shield means? I figured this knife was rare, because there had not been another sold on ebay in the past 30 days.

nice knife angie, it appears to be a 6228 swell end jack. the bomb shield gets it's name because it kinda resembles a bomb. it is a fairly rare pattern and it is in very good condition. good luck
