WHAT'S THIS BONE? 2 BLADE CASE XX NO PATTERN #

Hello all! I have been getting a ton of old Case knives ready to sell on ebay, but I know nothing about them!

I made my husband go through his collection and get rid of the ones that he didn't want, because the clutter was killing me!!! So, I'm on my own at selling all 75 and it's taking me forever to research all the knives before listing them. This knife has stumped me and I don't know what the handles are made of. Can anyone help? This knife has 2 blades, one on each end, and is a Case XX (1940-64) with NO pattern number. Any info on this knife would be greatly appreciated!!!

I would also like to ask the members of this forume for future help. Over the past few days, I've gotten pretty good at the stag and red bone knives, and can even spot a Green bone handle now, but there's still some knives that I just can't figure out. So if y'all don't mind....I'll be back to this forum to ask your opinion on more knives.

welcome angie. what is the closed length. it looks like a moose 6275.

Wow....thanks for replying so quickly Johnnie!

Closed it measures a little under 4 1/2 inches. Fully opened with both blades, it measures a whopping 10 3/4 inches! I can see why it would be called a "Moose" if that's what it is. Any idea on the handles? The pattern numbers aren't worn off.....it's never had any.

yes angie, it's a moose, pattern 6275. it's probably just bone if it's not red or green. and you're welcome

Angie in my part of the world we call that green bone. green bone in earlier case knives can vary some in appearence you kinda need a feel for it.

Many times older Greenbone actually looks brown. This is not only true for Case but Bulldog and other German and American knife makers also. Good luck!
