Knives that make you go Hmmmm?

Post by Hammerhead »

I'm no expert by any means but something about this knife makes me think.

It just doesn't look right to me, I could be wrong. Maybe someone can enlighten me about this one.

well the high bidder is the partner of burfmurret or an aka. definite sellers of questionable case knives. the pattern number looks questionable as does the stag.

Johnnie hit the nail on the head. Pattern number has been monkeyed with, the 5 is higher than the 488. Hafting and general appearance are wrong for Case Stag.

i did some checking and the seller, girlfriend-007 is from ckarksville. so is burfmurret, and his partner or aka carman2the.n, who was the high bidder. i bet they are padding the bids. clarksville must be a hot bed of knife counterfeiting. no offense to any honest resident.

edited for correct spelling

Check out the knife they purchased, Item # 180010230712. I'm not positive it's the same one, but it sure looks alot like it. Just buffed and cleaned? Top two photos are the one they purchased, bottom is the one they're selling.

You can always report shill bidding to eBay, they act IMMEDIATELY on that. There are 4 folks I reported over the 3 years that are no longer eBay members.
About shill bidding at:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/sel ... dding.html
A 15 minute tutorial about shill bidding is at:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/tns-tutorials.html look for it near the bottom of the page.
If nothing else you can always go to the trust and safety and report a problem. Here is a direct link to talk to a real person:
http://contact.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ShowCUPortal
Use the toll free number and they can direct you to the proper place.
800-717-EBAY (800-717-3229) Hope this helps! ::tu:: You can definitely ruin some slimeballs day!

if you look at the pic of the pattern number, you can see where the stag is not even with the bolsters. ::td::

I concur on knife.ocd, I know him well and he's one of the good guys. He sells a few knives but is a collector and not a dealer.
