Standard Knife Co

[Another Knife Collector]

Recently I was happy to find this nice little bone handle jack marked Standard Knife Co. The original Standard knife company was founded by Elliot and Dean Case in c1901 as a jobbing operation with their knives probably made by Platts amongst others. They closed upon the young death of Elliot in 1903. In c1920 the Standard Knife Co marking was used again on knives sold by WR Case and Sons which were sometimes (or always?) contracted from others including Ka-Bar. After looking at Goins I believe this knife is from the later use of the stamp, does anyone recognize who might have made it or have any other knives/info to contribute?

The jigged bone handles on that knife is the same jigging pattern KA-Bar used.

No doubt KA-Bar made that knife

All the early Standard Knife Co's were made in Little Valley NY and marked as such. Yours and this Cokebottle were made by Case in the early 20's

I agree Bigg'in. I like those swell end jacks. One of my favorite patterns. Nice swell center knfcollector.
