I'm embarrassed to ask this, but I can't find anything anywhere on this. I have an Uncle Henry skinner knife and an old timer pocket knife. The UH knife has "schrade+ U.S.A. 152UH" on it. What does schrade refer to? What does 152UH refer to? Is it made in the U.S.? Any info you could give me would be awesome. Thanks everyone.

Re: Newbie Question
Hi Alex,
Welcome to AAPK. First thing to remember is the only dumb question is the one you don't ask.
Let me refer you to another section of this forum that is very informative.

Dig around in there and I'm sure someone much more knowledgeable about Schrades will chime in.

Schrade + indicates the knife has stainless steel.(the "+" indicates stainless steel)
(Uncle Henry knives were made by the Schrade Company)
The "152" is the model number for the knife. The UH stands for Uncle Henry.
If the knife has USA on it, you can rest assured it was made in the United States.
Hope this helps clear up any confusion.

Re: Newbie Question
Thanks, that is really helpful! I appreciate it. My next question is what do I do about sharpening the blade, or I guess reshaping it. It's at the point right now where the blade won't take an even edge because the blade has thick spots and thin spots. Any suggestions? Thanks,

Re: Newbie Question
Alex,
Welcome to AAPK!
Here is a good thread on sharpening.
http://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kni ... sharpening
Read through it and if you have any questions come on back here and ask away.
My methods change from time to time. I am always ready to try a new system if it is a good one.
Some times you have to buy the system to see how well it works.
Some times they are great and some times they are a disappointment.
What do you have now to sharpen with?
Maybe it is just a matter of changing your technique so what you have will be more effective..
