Here is a 317 with the early tang stamp. As far as I know Buck used this for the first year or two of production. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT

Nice photos. Yes you are correct. The 317 Trailblazers ::tu:: were made by Camillus for Buck for a number of years. Those pictured are of the first era. Altogether they were made 1972 - 1989, unless some where assembled and sold at Camillus factory close down. (Other models were). Those look to be in good shape. A slipjoint knife for big knife guys.......300Bucks ::tu::

I have one that I bought recently that was new old stock in it's original box. When I opened it I was surprised to find the original hand written sales receipt dated 12/14/78 from Ed's Gun Shop, Inc.on Pine Ave. in Niagara falls, N.Y. The address didn't even have a zip code! It sold for $26.00 plus $1.82 tax back then. The knife, sheath and box are in perfect condition. Now it is locked up in my safe with the rest of my Buck knives.

I got mine for my 13th birthday in '76. One of my favorite all-time knives.

I think ZIP codes came about 1965, so Ed's Gun Shop must have had a large supply of receipts on hand to use before ordering more.
